If a tree falls in a forest and nobodies around to hear it, its probably still queer.

On November 19th 2024 T. Bertie Ansell was nominated by the Stanford community to present at an Evening of Queer Joy. Bertie spoke about the relief afforded to queer bodies by spending time in natural spaces and what nature teaches us about queer identity.
Queer ecology teaches us we as humans are not alone in our endeavours to transcend social boundaries. These 'unrules' learnt from the more-than-human world can be summarised as follows:
The things we label as things are rarely one thing
Our language always falls short of being
There are always exceptions to rules
We are all improvising solutions to existence
It is a privilage to have been nominated by the Stanford community and to present amongst a panel of accomplished speakers.
